Adele Forbidden to Talk Post-Surgery, Uses App to Swear

American Music Award winning artist Adele opened up to Anderson Cooper in “60 Minutes” for her first interview since her throat surgery last November. Doctors performed the operation to remove a benign polyp from her throat, which had been causing recurrent bleeding.

Adele confided that being forbidden to speak was difficult, saying “I love talking,” but then smiled when she spoke of how she got around the obstacle, explaining, “I love to swear … I found this one app where you can swear, so I’m still really getting my point across.” Watch a clip from the interview below:

Adele’s album 21 just hit #1 on the Billboard albums chart for its 19th non-consecutive week according to the Nielson Soundscan, and sold nearly 17 million copies worldwide. She will be performing at the Grammys this Sunday.
