Entertainment industry website TheWrap.com has reported that Britney Spears has rejected Fox’s $10 million contract offer to be a judge on “The X Factor.” Britney has requested $20 million for the heavily public job, and is looking instead to become a resident performer at a Las Vegas hotel, in the style of Celine Dion’s residency show at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace from 2011 to 2014.

“X Factor” founder and former American Idol judge Simon Cowell has been on the lookout for celebrity judge talent since the firing of former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, especially as the show will be competing this season with NBC’s “The Voice.” Britney has been laying low in the media as of late, since releasing her album Femme Fatale last year with her last single being “Criminal” in September.
