According to US Weekly, American Music Award winning artist Katy Perry engaged in a bidding war with movie producer Steve Tisch over cooking lessons at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing party. An attendee stated that Perry “emptied her purse out jokingly for the cameras before she and Steve agreed to share the prize for $100,000.” This isn’t the first time the singer has engaged in charitable causes: just recently, Perry pledged to donate proceeds from “Part of Me” to charitable foundation MusiCares.
