American Music Award winning artist Nicki Minaj’s song “Starships” has just set a new record, making Nicki the highest charting female rapper in U.K. history. Missy Elliot set the previous record at #5 with “4 My People,” which “Starships” had previously tied, and then jumped past to move up to its current position at #3. Nicki is also featured on the chart a second time this week with her David Guetta collaboration, “Turn Me On” at #10. Nicki’s album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is set to be released April 2nd.

In a recent interview with Vibe, Minaj described the theme of her album: “It’s going in a very free, exhilarating direction in terms of me owning who I am and me enjoying the process of making music. I think that when you get the album you’ll feel as if I had absolutely no boundaries. That’s probably the best way to explain it so that you understand. The album just has no boundaries. The album cannot be boxed in.”
Indeed, Roman Reloaded has showcased a wide range of music, from hardcore rap single “Roman Reloaded” to feel good dance pop track “Starships.” Click the link below to watch her music video for “Turn Me On” featuring David Guetta now:
