International singing sensation Shakira will be awarded Person of the Year for the Latin Grammy’s in November. Shakira is also nominated for three other grammy’s for her new album, “Sale el Sol.”

Latin Recording Academy president Gabriel Abaroa said, “We are honored to pay homage to this dynamic, socially conscious woman whose illustrious career has touched so many people around the world, both musically and personally.”

Shakira has also performed on the American Music Awards in 2009, and won the award for Favorite Latin Artist in 2010!
