Which Musical Inspired Lily Allen to Make Music Again?

English singer-songwriter Lily Allen has been out of the game since her retirement from the music industry in December of 2009, when she announced she would be taking a two year break from recording and performing music. The break was prompted by Allen’s marriage to her husband Sam Cooper and the birth of her daughter, Ethel Mary, as well as running her own fashion store, Lucy In Disguise.

However, the Daily Star reports that the singer has been at RAK Studios, possibly recording her next album set to be released in 2013. A source said, “Lily has been in the studio trying different sounds and writing new tracks. She’s not at a stage where she can start recording but the new album is definitely under way and there’s a chance it could be released early next year.” Lily’s change of heart was explained as a result of her writing music for the upcoming “Bridget Jones’ Diary” musical, which inspired her to pursue a “more mature sound.” Click below to watch Lily’s music video for her 2006 single “Smile” from debut album “Alright, Still:”
